The displayed name of an e-mail can be faked at will. The headers reveal who really sent it. Paste them here – the check runs only in your browser, nothing is sent to us.
How to find the headers
Gmail: Open the mail → three-dot menu → “Show original” → “Copy to clipboard”.
Outlook: Open the mail → three-dot menu → “View” → “View message details”.
Apple Mail: Select the mail → menu “View” → “Message” → “All Headers”.
GMX / WEB.DE: Open the mail → three-dot menu → “Show source”.
On a phone this usually does not work – open the mail in a browser on a computer instead.
